About Nik

Nik Xandir Wolf is a viral social media sensation with hundreds of millions of views on Instagram and YouTube. He is an award-winning writer, lyricist, filmmaker, and poet. He has been published in magazines both online and in print. He has published a novel, a book of poetry, and four surf themed anthologies through Kelp Press. His bestselling anthologies have received critical praise, as well as selections in Best American Mystery and Crime. He is at work on a studio album, a new novel, and a book of connected short stories.

I just have to say starting a new martial art, aka Jiu Jitsu at my age was a little bit daunting at first. But the crew at @graciemonterey are exceptional, kind, patient and professional.

Also, my fellow students in combatives are all friends now. What an incredible group of humans to be learning with.

Not to mention the joy of teaching my my two young boys Jiu-Jitsu and mat munchkins and little champs.

Stoked for this next chapter.

I had a fascinating conversation with Andy Weir today regarding his novel Project Hail Mary and it's adaptation to film due our in a couple of months.

They used very little CGI and a lot of set building and Rocky, the alien in the film, is a puppet and or animatronic rather than CGI, which Andy explains here adds to the films authenticity, especially when the puppeteer, the voice of Rocky, and Ryan Gosling get to riff on each other and try to make the best scene possible.

The holiday parade of lights in Pacific Grove is one of my favorite events in this quaint little town.
